Who Are We?

Area Rug Comedy is an underground art and standup comedy show in San Diego, featuring Southern California's best up and coming creatives.

Come learn with us

Ever wanted to try stand up comedy but didn't know where to start? We have created a workshop series that will get you from comedy fan to performing on our stage in only 6 weeks.

Taught by top comedians, this hands-on course covers all the essentials: from writing punchlines to performing with confidence, and mastering social media for comedy. Whether you're looking to sharpen your skills or take your first steps on stage, this workshop is the perfect place to start. Each class will help you refine your material, develop your unique voice, and connect with fellow comedians. At the end of the program, you'll have the chance to perform in a live final showcase, highlighting everything you've learned in front of an audience. Get ready to laugh, learn, and grow as a comedian in a supportive, fun environment!
